The Head Housekeeper is responsible for promoting a positive guest experience by overseeing the cleanliness of rooms within a given timeframe and in accordance with brand standards. The primary role is to inspect, train and work alongside the cleaning team to ensure all hotel rooms and public spaces meet compliance standards. This position is critical to ensure quality service to our guests while working cooperatively with the members of the hotel team, maintaining room quality as well as safety and security of the hotel. The Head Housekeeper will effectively lead, train, coach, motivate, engage, and provide feedback to the housekeeping staff daily.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively assist in the training and coaching of the housekeeping team.
- Prioritize and distribute work assignments.
- Communicate complaints about service and equipment to General Manager.
- Conduct regular guest room and common area quality inspections. Communicate results to appropriate staff members and Inn Management.
- Monitor the clean team’s daily labor goals.
- Perform daily room rack report to ensure guest rooms are rentable prior to arrivals.
- Ensure the safe use of chemicals and equipment in accordance with OSHA and brand standards.
- Ensure all chemicals are properly labeled
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, hospitality, and conduct.
- Communicate, assign, and execute special projects as needed.
- Conduct monthly supply inventory count.
- Maintain professional and proper company dress code standards including a smile and friendly attitude towards guests and staff members.
- Smile and greet guests following the 24-7 rule, maintain positive guest relations and appropriately handle guest requests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of previous experience in either customer service or housekeeping.
- Previous experience with training, coaching, motivating, and developing team members.
- Decision making and problem-solving skills or past experiences.
- Basic communication skills (reading, writing, comprehension). Be able to utilize a computer for timekeeping, OHSA training, etc.
- Bi-lingual (English Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Ability to be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision.
- Comply with good grooming and proper appearance standards

Working Conditions
Many of the assets managed by RRI West Management, LLC may be exterior corridor hotels, and as such, the physical environment may require the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The employee may encounter pets. Employees are required to use company provided personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous chemicals/materials and or airborne pathogens per company guidelines. Regularly scheduled hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
