Job Description Summary
Educate and counsel student-athletes (SAs), teams, and coaches regarding optimal performance nutrition. Provide multifaceted support through open hours, 1:1 appointments, and ongoing team touchpoints. Supervise and help lead the management/operation of the T House powered by QuakerFuel (“T House”). Serve as department liaison regarding NCAA supplement education. Provide guidance for team meals/snacks at home and while traveling. Work closely with athletic training staff, SHS, Penn Med physicians, and CAPS to support at-risk SAs and track injury trends impacted by improper nutrition. Develop and implement strategy for Bod Pod testing. Serve on the Sports Performance Leadership Team and other committees, as needed.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
  • Student-athlete education and counseling through open hours and 1:1 appointments.
  • Hold regular touchpoints with each varsity team throughout the semester.
  • Manage product offerings, specialty items, and education opportunities within the T House.
  • Assist teams with meal and snack planning at home and while traveling when requested.
  • Work with athletic training staff, SHS, CAPS, Penn Med physicians, and CAPS to support at-risk student-athletes and track injury trends.
  • Develop and implement strategy for Bod Pod testing.
  • Serve on Sports Performance Leadership Team and other internal/external committees, as requested.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics required, 3-5 years of related work experience in sports nutrition setting preferred.
  • Registered dietitian through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Certified as Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) preferred.
  • Previous 1 year experience working in a NCAA Division 1 setting.
  • Understanding of NCAA rules and regulations including banned substance list.
  • Understanding of Ivy League rules and regulations.
  • Pennsylvania state licensure.
  • Familiarity/ability to perform body composition testing utilizing Bod Pod machine.
  • Experience working with disordered eating and eating disordered athletes.
  • Ability to work independently with good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a group or team setting.
  • Have understanding of clinical values and measures and complimentary medical nutrition therapy.
  • Ability to work evening and weekends as required.
