Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Insurance Verification professional and Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a medical office setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical scheduling, medical records, and providing administrative support in a healthcare environment as well as communicating directly with insurance companies.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Schedule appointments for patients and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks
- Handle patient inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional customer service
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth operations of the office
- Call and verify patients insurance information and benefits
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
- Previous experience verifying insurance or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and insurance processes
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
Monday/Thursday/Friday in our New Braunfels location primarily doing insurance verifications. Tuesday/Wednesday will be at our San Antonio location (Stone Oak) primarily running the front desk.
Any of the above experiences are preferred but not required. We will work with and train the right individual.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
