Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aide to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care and a strong understanding of the unique needs of clients, including those with autism. As a Home Care Aide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with light- housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and grocery shopping.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed, ensuring safe transfer techniques.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Administer first aid or CPR when necessary, following established protocols.
- Assist clients with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed health regimens.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care or as a home care aide is preferred.
- Knowledge of working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred .
- Ability to assist clients with mobility challenges.
- Strong observational skills to monitor client health and well-being effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
- A caring demeanor with a passion for helping others live independently.
