Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Dementia Aide to provide essential support to a 78 year old dementia patient in need of full assistance with daily living. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia. This role requires a blend of personal care, patient monitoring, and support in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor patients' health and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Implement care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences.
- Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
- Maintain cleanliness in the client's living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate effectively with family members, healthcare providers, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Home Care Aide or in a similar role is required.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and care plans is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
- Ability to manage full patient care (bathing, dressing, feeding, medication management.)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A caring attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality support services.
- Basic cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals for clients are a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
