Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide essential care and support to individuals in their homes. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, by assisting them with daily activities and personal care. This position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality care and fostering a supportive environment.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, encouraging social interaction and engagement.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor client health status.
- Perform catheter care and assist with other personal hygiene needs.
- Support clients with mobility and transportation to appointments or community activities.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
- Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals tailored to each client's needs.
- Assist clients with home community care tasks, ensuring a safe and clean living environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Certification in CPR is required to ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Experience in hospice care is a plus, providing comfort to clients at critical stages of life.
- Ability to administer medications accurately according to prescribed guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
- Must be able to cook nutritious meals that cater to individual dietary needs.
- Flexibility in scheduling is essential as care may be needed at various times throughout the day or week.
