POSITION SUMMARY
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in all PHRI facilities, including administrative offices and residential program sites. This role ensures that all areas are well-kept, welcoming, and compliant with health and safety standards. The Housekeeper is an integral part of ensuring the comfort and dignity of clients, staff, and visitors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of bathrooms, kitchens, lobbies, workspaces, residential units, and common areas according to daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and disinfect surfaces using agency-approved cleaning methods.
- Monitor and restock cleaning and hygiene supplies including hand soap, tissue, and sanitizer dispensers throughout the facility.
- Operate laundry equipment to wash, dry, and fold program linens and residents’ laundry (as applicable).
- Adhere to infection control policies and proper storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Dispose of trash, biohazard waste, and recycling materials in compliance with health regulations.
- Report damage, pest issues, or maintenance needs promptly to the Facility Manager.
- Assist in setup and cleanup for meetings, events, and inspections.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean storage area for housekeeping supplies.
- Observe and respect residents’ privacy and confidentiality when cleaning personal or shared spaces.
- Perform deep cleaning during transitions between clients or in preparation for new admissions.
- Respond to emergency cleaning needs in a timely and professional manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1+ year experience in custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping role.
- Familiarity with cleaning agents, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe) and various business software.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.A.
