Performs scientific research
Assists with training and direction of graduate students and volunteers
Assists with data analysis, the preparation of manuscripts and posters
Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of lab and lab equipment; including ordering supplies and certification of receipt in appropriate university systems
Presents data at lab meeting and possibly regional and national meetings
Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position.
Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.)
Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution
Performs all other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Master's degree or specialized academic training beyond the Bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a Master's degree.
Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof.
In accordance with Texas Executive Order GA-48 and applicable state or federal law, this position may involve access to, work on, or conduct research involving critical infrastructure. It will require background checks, including, but not limited to, criminal history and other security-related screenings. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of these checks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a research laboratory, either through employment or academic study.
Proficiency in molecular biology assays.
Willingness to work with infectious agents under Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) precautions.
Experience conducting experiments with small animals in compliance with IACUC policies and procedures.
