125 year old PA Keystone Star 4 Child Care Center has an immediate opening for an experienced lead or assistant infant teacher with a strong work ethic and good communication skills. Applicant must be reliable, flexible and dependable. Must have a minimum of an CDA, AA or BS in I/T or Early Childhood Education (or currently enrolled in a program to obtain one of these), and be able to submit criminal, child abuse, NSOR and FBI clearances, as well as a health assessment and TB screening. Required paperwork must be completed before start. State required training will also need to be completed throughout the year.
Applicant must familiarize self with DHS regulations and have knowledge of Keystone Stars. The teacher will be responsible for weekly lesson plans and implementing daily, age appropriate activities for a classroom with infants. . Other duties will include taking out trash, vacuuming and keeping a clean, organized and orderly classroom.
Minimum Qualifications
* A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field or
* A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children or
* An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children or
* An associate's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children or
* An I/T CDA and 1 year of experience with children
Responsibilities
-Meet all applicable DHS Licensing regulations
-Prepare weekly lesson plans using the Early Learning Standards
-Plan both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives and developmentally appropriate practice.
-Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
-Maintain daily open communication with parents.
-Complete bi-annual assessment of children's development.
-Report progress of children to parents in bi-annual reports and through parent-teacher conferences.
-Keep all appropriate records such as accident reports, medicine administration, meal counts and attendance.
-Maintain anecdotal records, child observations, and Ounce Scale info.
-Maintain confidentiality.
-Report any suspected abuse to supervisor
-Maintain a safe and healthy environment.
-Supervise assistants, aides and volunteers in the classroom
-Attend in-service and staff meetings.
