Position Title: Instructional Paraeducator, 32.5 hours per week
School of Vacancy: Newtown Middle School
Starting Date: August 25, 2025
Salary Range: As per the current paraeducator contract
- Work under the direction of general education teacher(s) to support individuals and/or
- Ability to positively support the development of social-emotional skills
- Provide assistance to teacher(s) in classroom tasks
- Assist in other various capacities, as needed
- Specific duties will vary based on grade level, content area, and student needs
Qualifications:
Must have completed the equivalent of 2 years of study at an institution of higher education, OR
earned an Associate’s Degree (or higher), OR attained a passing score on the ETS ParaPro
Assessment.
- Ability to assist in classroom instruction to support student learning
- Ability to follow through on directions
- Ability to establish positive rapport with students
- Possess strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, neutral and patient
- Adapts easily to change
