Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and team-oriented Controls Technician or Engineer to support plant control systems and electrical maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, instrumentation, and distributed control systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and support critical plant operations. This role includes rotating on-call responsibilities, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:
- A four-year degree, two-year technical certification, or associate degree in electronics preferred, equivalent experience acceptable.
- An ABET-accredited degree is required for Engineer-level candidates.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Hands-on experience in electronics, instrumentation, and program configuration.
- Familiarity with plant electrical maintenance practices.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Turbine Control Systems (TCS), or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is required.
- Proficiency in Emerson Ovation DCS is preferred.
- GE Mark VIe experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of plant systems and boiler controls.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under limited information.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness and availability to take on weekly on-call duties, including holidays and weekends on a rotating basis.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
