ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR BUSINESS
Qualifications:
- SBA, SBL New York State Administrator Certification
- 5-7 years of administrative experience
- Expertise in school business matters
- Capable of managing the District’s fiduciary responsibilities
Performance Responsibilities:
- Organization and Leadership
- Develops annual District budget
- Evaluates the District’s financial systems and prepare and implement appropriate controls
- Cooperates with the District auditor and New York State Department of Audit and Control to maintain accounting functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and state regulations
- Prepares financial reports for the state and other governmental agencies
- Maintains control of the District’s fixed assets
- Purchasing and Bidding
- Supervises the purchasing including the bidding process to ensure compliance with state laws and regulations
- Develops and implements procedures for control of purchases
- Prepares and review all contracts between the district vendors
- Insurances
- Maintains current information regarding insurance and employee benefit policies
- Keeps abreast of changes in insurance, which could benefit the district
- Periodically reviews the District’s insurance coverage to ensure that the best coverage at the best price is provided
- Supervision
- Director of Business/Treasurer
- Director of Buildings and Grounds
- Director of Security
- Purchasing Agent
- Payroll
- Accounting
- Food Services
- Transportation Department
- Cooperates with contractors in ensuring proper completion of capital projects
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent
