The Wayne County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a passionate and skilled Intervention Specialist with expertise in various learning technologies and instructional strategies to deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student’s educational program, supporting their academic, behavioral, and social success. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students who need intervention
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to develop intervention plans
- Utilize learning technologies and adaptive tools to support diverse learning styles
- Conduct assessments, track progress, and document instructional outcomes and adjust intervention strategies as needed
- Develop data-driven instructional materials and resources tailored to students' needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention outcomes
- Create a classroom climate of safety, respect, and encouragement
- Provide leadership and guidance to support staff and classroom aides
- Participate in IEP meetings, conferences, and professional development
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of a BA/BS degree in required area
- Valid Ohio Department of Education license as a Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Intervention Specialist or appropriate alternative licensure
- Experience working with students with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in using educational technologies and learning management systems
- Familiarity with literacy education and math instruction methods
- Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
