Job Duties of the Inventory Control Clerk:
- Count merchandise in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
- Compare inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
- Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies. Generate reports such as inventory balance or shortages.
- Prepare lists of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items.
- Researching any shortages and overages that are discovered during these counts.
- May also perform other tasks such as repairing / recouping damaged inventory.
- Respond and research email inquiries from sales teams and purchasing teams around inventory levels and product quality.
- Desk in an office space with a computer and will work in proprietary inventory software as well as basic outlook email and very basic Excel spreadsheets.
- This job is 30% office and 70% in the warehouse.
Skills Required of the Inventory Control Clerk:
- Ability to count correctly, and communicate effectively in English.
- The ability to lift cases up to 75 pounds occasionally
- And most importantly analytical and problem solving skills for researching.
- The candidate must be a team player and be willing to learn – forklift / walkie rider experience not required but a definite plus
- 3 years of warehouse or distribution is preferred particularly in food
