Position Summary
The IT Support Specialist will assist the IT team with various tasks related to technology management, security, system configuration, and general end-user support. This position provides hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintaining systems, and implementing solutions to support the organization's technology needs. The IT Support Specialist will collaborate with team members to improve processes, enhance security, and optimize IT operations while also providing direct technical assistance to end-users. The role aims to ensure smooth and efficient IT services through responsive support, proactive maintenance, and continuous learning.
Duties and responsibilities
Support Device Management & Configuration
- Assist in deploying and configuring Microsoft Intune and Autopilot for remote devices.
- Install applications, set up SSO portals, and implement security policies to ensure device compliance.
- Troubleshoot device deployment issues and ensure proper installation of critical applications such as BitLocker and Office 365.
Monitor and Maintain Security Systems
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report potential security threats or anomalies.
- Work with tools such as Cisco Secure Access and Sentinel One
- Assist in configuration for SOC2 Audit
Document Processes and Generate Reports
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of device configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and deployment processes.
- Prepare progress reports for review by the IT team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
- Update procedural guides and knowledge base materials to support continuous improvement.
Collaborate with IT Team Members
- Participate in regular meetings to discuss ongoing projects, challenges, and priorities.
- Share findings, insights, and solutions to contribute to team success.
- Work collaboratively with mentors to gain practical knowledge and improve skills.
Research and Implement Best Practices
- Research emerging technologies and methodologies relevant to device management, security, and cloud solutions.
- Recommend improvements to current processes based on findings and best practices.
- Test new tools and solutions under the guidance of senior team members.
Provide User Support
- Respond to basic inquiries or troubleshooting requests from users related to systems under development.
- Assist users with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of devices and applications.
- Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 2 - 4 years of previous experience related to IT support, networking, cybersecurity, or system administration is required
- Strong understanding of IT systems, network management, and security principles
- Familiarity with cloud solutions, device management, or endpoint security tools is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document processes clearly and concisely.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a structured manner.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and general computer literacy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Capability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and technologies.
- Willingness to seek guidance and apply feedback to improve skills and performance.
- Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and professionalism.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn about IT systems and security practices.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous Entra and Intune experience are a plus
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Fundamentals (e.g., Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals) are a plus.
Working conditions
- This position is a hybrid role, requiring the employee to work 2 - 3 days per week in the office, with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.
- Typical working hours are flexible but will generally align with standard business hours.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate deadlines, project timelines, or meetings with team members across various time zones.
- The IT Support Specialist will primarily work with standard office technology such as computers, software platforms, and cloud-based systems.
- This role may involve troubleshooting and configuring devices both in-office and remotely, requiring adaptability and effective communication skills.
