Position Overview:
This position is for an IV Admixture Pharmacy Technician responsible for preparing, compounding, and admixing medications under supervision while adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines. The role involves managing inventory, maintaining detailed logs, and performing quality assurance tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance. This technician also supports the entire medication process from order verification and data entry to proper disposal of materials.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare medication orders by compounding and admixing drugs under supervision.
- Verify and process orders, checking for completeness, patient information, and physician authorization.
- Calculate dosages and convert between metric and apothecary measurements.
- Admix drugs in a timely and accurate manner, following all guidelines.
- Maintain controlled substance records according to state and federal regulations.
- Dispose of materials used in chemo and non-chemo IV mixing properly.
- Perform quality assurance activities, including daily hood cleaning and monthly drug checks for expiration dates.
- Maintain logs for temperature, protocols, and patient assistance drugs.
- Manage inventory by documenting quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
- Support the medication use process with tasks like preparing labels, data entry, pre-billing review, and ordering supplies.

What You’ll Bring:
- License: Active and in-good-standing Texas Pharmacy Technician License
- Education: High school diploma
- Experience: Minimum five to seven years of experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills required.Oncology background preferred. Extensive I.V. preparation experience required. Completion of an ASCP accredited program or community college-based program preferred. IV Certification preferred.
- Screening: Must pass a background check, drug screen, and health screening

You should be able to confidently handle daily work challenges, adjust to changing priorities, and show resilience when facing adversity or frustration.
