Type: Part-Time, Certified Teaching Positions (15-20 hours per week). Position is on site in Redmond on Wednesday and La Pine on Thursday.

Key Features of the OFS Model:
- Individual Learning Plans (ILPs): Customized plans developed in collaboration with parents, students, and advisors to tailor instruction
- Community Days: On-site learning with social and project-based experiences, held Tuesdays–Thursdays (half/full day options)
- Blended Instruction: Weekly live and virtual class options, enrichment electives in arts, music, tech, PE, etc., and community building events
- Support Services: Structured literacy, dyslexia intervention, special education (via sponsoring district), TAG and ELL support
- Parental Engagement: Parents play an active role at home, ensuring that curriculum is implemented, and overseeing the structure of work from home. They are coached through weekly check-ins and resource guidance from a licensed teacher/advisor.
Position Overview
Grades: Kindergarten & First Grade
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead community day classrooms with engaging, developmentally appropriate project-based instruction.
- Work with grade level-teams to design engaging lessons in social studies, science, early literacy, and community day skills to help children develop a love for learning and skills necessary for a well-rounded education.
- Engage in targeted professional development to improve skills.
- Collaborate with parents and advisors to guide student growth.
- Collaborate with support staff—literacy, RAFT, and special education teams.
- Use data to assess student learning and leverage it for growth.
- Build community with staff, families, and students.
Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon teaching license preferred (OFS can support a charter registry license for exceptional candidates).
- Bachelor’s Degree
- K–2 experience (1+ years recommended).
- Commitment to inclusive, parent-involved education.
- Knowledge of the science of reading and relevant pedagogy.
- Skilled in differentiated instruction, data use, classroom management.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
