Our kennel team plays a crucial role in keeping pets safe, comfortable, and engaged throughout their stay. We're looking for a dependable and motivated person to join our staff as a Kennel Assistant and Play Yard Attendant.
Position Overview:
This role is all about supporting daily care routines and ensuring pets are clean, secure, and well-stimulated. From cleaning to playtime, this job is hands-on, fast-paced, and rewarding. You’ll work closely with the rest of the team to uphold safety, sanitation, and enrichment standards across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Animal Care & Kennel Tasks
- Clean and sanitize kennel runs, crates, and common areas
- Scoop and dispose of waste frequently throughout the shift
- Refresh water buckets and ensure every animal has clean bedding
- Monitor dogs for signs of stress, illness, or behavioral concerns
- Assist in preparing and delivering meals as directed
- Support with laundry, dishes, and general tidiness of the kennel area
Play Yard & Enrichment
- Safely escort dogs to and from individual play sessions
- Supervise dogs while outside—never leave dogs unattended
- Engage in physical and mental enrichment activities appropriate for each dog
- Use good judgment and follow safety guidelines when handling all animals
- Clean and maintain outdoor yard areas, including picking up waste and sanitizing toys
Requirements:
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Able to lift 40+ lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods
- Observant and able to follow detailed instructions and care notes
- Physically capable and mentally focused—this is a physically active job
- Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and a positive attitude
- Experience with dogs is preferred
Schedule & Pay:
- Part-Time | Morning or Midday Shifts
- $15/hour
- Weekend and holiday availability is required
