Job Summary: Paretta’s Italian Ristorante is seeking a motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee culinary operations and ensure the highest standards of food quality and efficiency. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation processes, maintaining inventory levels, and adhering to health and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for Italian cuisine, and the ability to maintain a collaborative and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plate presentation.
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and food costs, ordering supplies as needed and controlling waste to achieve budgeted goals.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, following health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless coordination and efficient service.
- Develop and maintain recipes, menu items, and special dishes, ensuring consistency and innovation.
- Implement procedures for food storage, preparation, and handling to ensure quality and freshness of ingredients.
- Handle kitchen-related inquiries, concerns, and issues, addressing them promptly and professionally.
- Manage kitchen equipment and facilities, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among kitchen staff.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef in a restaurant setting, preferably with Italian cuisine.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse culinary team.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation techniques, menu planning, and inventory management.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus.
