Summary of the Position: The primary responsibility of the Lead Credible Messenger is a transformative mentor who initates, organizes, plans, develops, and implements direct services to assigned participants and their families. All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
- Facilitate group and individual sessions using trauma-informed and restorative practices.
- Develop and implement strength-based service plans tailored to each youth's needs.
- Provide wrapround support in home, schools, and communities.
- Collaborate with juvenile justice systems, families, and community organizations.
- Serve as a role model and advocate, helping youth navigate challenges and build life skills.
- Maintain availability during non-traditional hours to offer support
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent with lived experience working with target population.
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- Experience with working with at-risk youth in a mentor or advocate type role
- Understanding of juvenile justice systems and community resources
- Basic computer skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible schedule
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance is required.
