Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Lead Host to join our dynamic team in Montclair, NJ. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm welcome and a positive dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage guest flow efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly upon arrival with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements using the Opentable or similar technology.
- Maintain an organized waitlist during peak hours, ensuring guests are informed of wait times.
- Assist guests with inquiries about menu items, restaurant services, and special events.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth operations.
- Handle phone calls with professionalism, providing information and taking reservations as needed.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization at the host stand and dining area.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance guest experiences and address any concerns promptly.
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services or customer service roles is preferred, ideally within a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Opentable, and Toast POS, is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for interacting with guests and team members alike.
- A passion for hospitality and helping others create memorable dining experiences is highly valued.
