About the Role
We are looking for a licensed and experienced pyrotechnic professional with strong fabrication and AV/sensor integration skills to take the lead on building, testing, and refining a new, interactive entertainment experience. This role is not just about operating — you will be the hands-on project lead responsible for sourcing, assembling, and integrating small-scale pyrotechnic components into a larger mechanical and electronic game system.
You will work directly with ownership in our dedicated Las Vegas fabrication space, building out the workshop from scratch, establishing safety protocols, and driving R&D from concept to final install. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a groundbreaking project in the hospitality/experiential entertainment sector, with full creative and technical input.
Primary Functions
- Safely source, handle, and fabricate small-scale pyrotechnic components for integration into interactive mechanical/electronic systems (licensed work)
- Combine pyrotechnic rigging skills with fabrication of mechanical structures, AV integration, and sensor-driven systems
- Serve as the sole technical lead, working hands-on from day one
- Build out a functional workshop and establish safety and compliance protocols
- Document all R&D, sourcing, and testing procedures in detail
Expanded Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble components using metalwork, carpentry, plastics, and other materials
- Integrate lighting, low-voltage electronics, and sensors into game structures
- Maintain and organize shop tools, inventory, and workspace
- Collaborate with contractors only as needed for specialized work
- Troubleshoot, repair, and improve prototypes and installations
- Act as a project leader while staying hands-on in day-to-day build work
Must-Have Qualifications
- Professional pyrotechnic licensing and hands-on experience (event production, fireworks, special effects, theatrical FX, or arena show environments)
- Proven ability to fabricate small pyrotechnic components and integrate them into larger systems
- Strong understanding of NFPA safety standards and related compliance requirements
- Mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills (welding, carpentry, rigging, basic circuitry)
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and problem-solve in a fast-paced, evolving project environment
- Comfortable managing both safety-critical work and creative prototyping
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, relays, and custom sensor integration
- CNC, 3D printing, or rapid prototyping experience
- Previous work in theme parks, live entertainment, or experiential attraction builds
