Premier Medical Resources is looking for a Legal Coordinator to join our team!
The Legal Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Legal Case Managers, coordinating and scheduling physicians’ testimony for trial, arbitration and deposition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee staff regarding work assignments, clinical priorities and performance issues of clinical staff
  • Provide oversight and training to the Legal Case Manager
  • Ensure compliance with current healthcare regulations, medical laws and high ethical standards
  • Monitor and reinforce policies, procedures and ethical conduct
  • Resolve issues in a real-time environment, including customer service issues and complaints
  • Maintain staff records, reviews and approves employee timesheets
  • Provide monthly statistics to accountants/CEO/COO
  • Manage a high volume of case load monthly
  • Review all Notice of Deposition (NOD) and/or Cross Notice and forward to legal for review
  • Prepare Dropbox link (per Legal’s request) if notice includes Subpoena Duces Tecum (SDT)
  • Track payments for all trials/deposition for physicians’ monthly reimbursement
  • Communicate time sensitive information to respective personal and follow up
  • Collaborate with clinic manager, legal assistants, paralegals, attorneys as well as opposing counsels
  • Provide legal team information promptly to assist in preparing physicians and/or filing motions if needed
  • Schedule pre-deposition, deposition, trial conferences between physician and attorney via Zoom, telephone or in person prior to scheduled event
  • Obtain all records, documents, exhibits and prepare binder (hardcopy and/or electronic) for physician review and preparation
  • Protect patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records in accordance with policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements
  • Other duties as assigned Legal Coordinator
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of common deadlines and protocols for depositions, trials, and depositions upon written questions (DWQs)
  • Strong knowledge of affidavit and subpoenas
  • Excellent organization, time management, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills
  • Detail oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-volume environment
• Understand the importance of the time sensitive information and how it could affect a provider’s schedule • Ability to help build a culture of respect, accountability and trust
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Paralegal certification
  • Four (4) years of experience in personal injury law
  • Two (2) years of experience managing records
