Well established Downtown Manhattan Insurance Defense firm seeks a legal secretary with 3+ years of civil litigation defense experience. This position will require the ability to prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery documents, as well as handle e-filing, dictation, and other duties as assigned. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Qualifications
· College degree or equivalent experience
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Self-starter
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
- Prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, briefs, and motions
- Assist with document organization and management using iManage or similar software
- Maintain client files and ensure all documents are properly filed and organized
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with drafting correspondence and client communications
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a legal secretary or similar role
- Proficient in data entry and document management
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
