JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Field Media Services Technician II – PA

Department: Lifecycle

Reports To: Service Center Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:
The role of Field Media Services Technician II will lead field crews when servicing air and water treatment systems in an array of industrial and construction related settings. Sites settings and locations will vary and provide valuable experience on how and why these systems operate. Responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of water treatment equipment at customer locations. Help the environment by servicing the systems responsible for cleaning up contaminated water and air and filtering the public’s drinking water supply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Represent Newterra in a professional and courteous manner.
2. Service activities including preparing for and executing carbon exchange services.
3. Travel to site via vehicle or air flight, including driving company vehicle and towing required equipment.
4. Travel to various job sites in a company provided vehicle.
5. Driving and positioning trucks loaded with equipment under 26,000 lbs.
6. Positioning and connecting hoses and equipment.
7. Operating truck mounted and skid mounted vacuum systems.
8. Communicate with technicians, contractors and project managers.
9. Promote Newterra’s services for repeat site visits and routine maintenance.
10. Conduct Onsite Operator Training.
11. Provide technical support for operating systems and equipment.
12. Establish and maintain a respectful working relationship with all clients. Aim to be seen as a reliable and knowledgeable resource to all clients.
13. Diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment failures and determine proper solutions.
14. Promote Newterra’s services for repeat site visits and routine maintenance.
15. Ensure all schedules are met, set expectations early as schedule risks are identified.
16. Issue commissioning report per the company defined process.
17. Warehouse duties such as, general maintenance (cleaning, sweeping, organizing), unloading and storing inventory, dumping and bagging spent medias, assembly, shipping and receiving.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time. Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus), smell, hear and touch. Use of hands to control, handle and operate equipment. Accurate hand/eye coordination. Finger dexterity, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull up to 55 lbs. Working in tight spaces, confined spaces, and elevated surfaces. Wearing full and ½ face respirators and Tyvek coveralls while working in hot & cold conditions. The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of equipment to maneuver or position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments. Field work on outdoor and indoor sites involving long-term standing, sitting and repetitive motions, confined spaces, and working from heights. Use of power tools. Use of heavy equipment including forklifts and aerial lifts. Working in areas with known hazardous chemicals and potentially hazardous conditions.
