In this position...
The chosen candidate will engage with dealers, trucking companies (carhaul carriers), railroads, ocean carriers, yard operators, as well as with cross-functional teams (i.e. product development, marketing and sales, legal), to efficiently flow vehicles within our network. Efficient vehicle flow will require the candidate to focus on reducing premium freight, dwell time at origin and destination and drive in-transit time improvements with our rail/truck carriers. To deliver on the cost, speed and quality goals, this candidate will focus on projects and establishing measurable goals, to achieve and monitor desired outcomes.
What you'll do...
- Work with carriers and 3rd party logistics providers to maintain on time performance targets for Finished Vehicles deliveries from origin, destination ramps and ports.
- Work with the plants & FCSD to resolve daily operational & logistical issues that affect deliveries and logistics performance.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory flow and vehicle aging issues at origin, destination ramps and ports.
- Reduce premium freight spend to ensure budget is achieved.
- Monitor Finished Vehicle Carrier performance management using FreightVerify tools
- Monitor Origin Service performance management
- Identify and investigate operational issues impacting the handling of vehicles in the network
- Develop tracking metrics and tools to improve and monitor key KPI's
- Drive improvements in the Transportation Network to reduce Time in Transit with the use of data from FreightVerify / COPAC.
- Lead the UPS field team efforts, actions, and projects to reduce inventory dwell
- Support Plant New Vehicle launches including vehicle mobility
- Capacity Planning -- analyze port modification and homologation capabilities
- Coordinate cross-functional set-up and launch for new model homologation actions
- Work to manage resolution for in-transit stop ship quality issues
- Management daily production activities at ports for global import / export operations
- Achieve financial budget targets -- freight, inventory (vehicle and parts), and dealer floorplan
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of work experience

- Vehicle Logistics Experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills: you will be speaking or presenting to Senior Ford Leadership, regularly
- Plant Operations Understanding
- Ability to positively influence change
- Ability to handle complexity and multi-tasking
- Ability to work with cross-functional groups to resolve concerns
- Strong organizational skills required
- Ability to make decisions and work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite tools
