Amentum is currently seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team in the Dulles, VA area. In this position you’ll directly support our customers warehouse operations logistics life cycle to include procurement, shipping and receiving, accountability, and storage. This position requires an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance that has been adjudicated in the last 5 years or designated CE and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a logistics technical advisor to Operations Manager, provides expert advice, and assistance on all property management issues.
- Execute logistics, procurement, transportation, and warehousing activities.
- Present prepared training to hand receipt holders on the proper use of the equipment being assigned.
- Operate software programs designed specifically to manage logistical functions, such as procurement, inventory management, and other supply chain planning.
- Maintain and update inventories in Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
- Use Microsoft Office suite and applications to provide reports to leadership on logistics activities.
- Responsible for the packaging, crating, and documentation, for all materials. Ensures all items are labeled, stored and packed properly including the safe and efficient use of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Receive, store and issue/return materials in support of all operations.
- Maintain procedures for inventory control within the warehouse, and directly manage these functions in a hands-on manner.
- Coordinate with Government Logistics Supervisor to optimize inventory holdings and maintain stock levels.
- Responsible for monitoring item levels using the inventory management software to determine expiration dates and supply reorder points.
- Establish hand receipt files and maintain accountability of issued items
- Makes recommendations on the need for reports or administrative action to be taken on accountable property that was misused, unserviceable or lost.
- Maintain effective relationships with external organizations and internal stakeholders; coordinate timely logistical support with all program support entities.
- Manages and coordinates equipment repairs, calibrations, exchanges, returns, and refurbishment and determines the need for repair and/or replacement.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance support with Test, Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)
- Provide accurate documentation of equipment, locations and values.
- Coordinates final disposition of assets, including the reutilization program; organizes requirements of hazardous materials disposal, and appropriate shipment and transfer method.
- Travel as needed (10%-15%).
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Candidate will receive specialized training on any unique job responsibilities.

- Three (3) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Progressive relevant training and/or certification in appropriate discipline may be substituted for one (1) year of the education or experience requirement.
- Basic knowledge in operating MS- Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point.

Minimum Years of Experience:
- 3 Years
Preferred:
- Four (4) years of college in a related technical discipline plus five (5) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience for a total of seven (7) years. Progressive relevant training and/or certification in appropriate discipline may be substituted for two (2) years of the education or experience requirement.
- Knowledge of the Federal Supply System
- Military 74D Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) or equivalent training/experience desired.
- Military 92A Automated Logistical Specialist or equivalent training/experience desired
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
