Yard Personnel and Delivery Drivers (combination position)- Starting hourly rate of $17.00
Yard Personnel and Delivery Drivers perform a variety of manual labor tasks including but not limited to: professionally interacting with customers, loading and transporting building materials to job sites, lifting and moving materials on premises, loading and unloading vendor and customer vehicles and maintaining an orderly and safe area for customers, employees and vendors.
Requirements
· Drug test and background check REQUIRED pre-hire and randomly
· Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
· Comfortably able to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 85 pounds
· Able to stand, walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time
· MUST have a valid Kentucky driver’s license with an insurable driving record and reliable transportation
· Must be dependable with high attention to detail
· Education/Training: High School Diploma is preferred but not required.
· Knowledge of building materials and construction process is required
· A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction is imperative
· Able to read, write and do simple mathematical calculations is necessary
· Able to keep busy, finding tasks to complete without constant direction
· Must maintain a professional appearance and disposition at all times
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide prompt, courteous and accurate customer loading assistance
· Load lumber and building materials into or onto customer vehicles and trailers (both manually and using equipment)
· Unload incoming freight in a safe manner to prevent bodily injury or damage
· Accurately assemble loads and prepare for delivery and customer pick-up
· Secure out-bound loads in strict compliance with DOT regulations
· Maintain the lumber yard, pipe yard and warehouses for safety and appearance
· Place incoming materials into inventory in the proper location
· Deliver and off-load materials at jobsites
· Report issues regarding equipment, safety, damage, inventory or customer concerns
