- Follows established school routines, processes, and procedures as they relate to lunch, recess, transitioning, etc.
- Monitors student behavior during meal service or recess blocks during lunch, per established school expectations.
- Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Circulates throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten assisting students as needed.
- Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and write equivalent to a 10th grade educational level.
- Knowledge and use of culturally responsive practices.

Lunch Monitors have the primary responsibility for monitoring student behavior during meal service, assisting with the cleanliness of the cafeteria, assisting with recycling, and assisting with the flow of student movement in the Cafeteria.
