This position is located at the District 04 Headquarters in Bossier City, Louisiana. Under general supervision from a higher-grade maintenance supervisor, the Maintenance Repairer Master performs highly skilled, journeyman-level maintenance and repair work across multiple trades. This position also serves as a lead worker, providing guidance, direction, and training to a team of Maintenance Repairers, ensuring the efficient and effective completion of maintenance projects for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) infrastructure and facilities.

Minimum Qualifications
One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:
Three years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Performs advanced Journeyman Level Maintenance work in the following areas: Plumbing/Sewer Systems, Minor Electrical Maintenance, General Building and Equipment Maintenance. This includes but not limited to: troubleshooting equipment; installation/repair/preventative maintenance of water and sewer lines; catch basin installation /repair; repair/install plumbing/sewer fixture; and other repairs and installations as deemed necessary to maintain all DOTD owned buildings and facilities.
Acts as Lead Worker by directing work and providing guidance of assigned tasks to Maintenance Repairer 2; Inspects and approves quality of work; corrects deficiencies and ensures corrective action is taken; Mentors and assist developing personnel by assisting on skill development and demonstrating proper techniques, procedures, and efficient work practices; Ensures assigned jobs are completed with proper tools, materials, and equipment available; Informs supervisor of job status, challenges and completion in a timely manner.
Acts as supervisor in absence of Maintenance Foreman. This involves various administrative tasks including but not limited Monthly Safety Meetings, MV3 for passenger vehicles, completing Work Orders, and Building/Equipment Inspections.

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Work Schedule: Work hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Thursday, off on Friday.
Compensation: The starting salary for a Maintenance Repairer Master is $21.05 hourly.
