Responsible for operation management and service development of programs within Patient/Family Amenities and Support to include: Child Life, Creative Arts Therapies, Sibling Care. Special Event planning and programming through the Child Life Center, and oversight of the hospital-based school room. . Collaborates programming in partnership with key stakeholders. Responsible for all aspects of operations including service delivery, fiscal administration, allocation of human resources, analyzing metrics to influence positive outcomes that impact/influence the patient experience. Develops partnerships with clinical care teams to improve outcomes for optimal ambulatory encounters, patient care and service delivery.
- Master's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Health Care Administration, Music Therapy, Art Therapy or a related field or enrollment in a Master's program within one year of hire required.
- Proficiency in one of the disciplines acquired through three to five years of progressively more responsible professional experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to successfully communicate with physicians, management, department staff, patients, parents and significant others.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to negotiate for cooperation and encourage collaboration with superiors, peers, physicians and staff.
- Analytical ability to identify, evaluate and respond to complex management, personnel and/or clinical issues.
- Flexibility to respond to department needs on a 24 hour, 7 day of week basis.
- Some evening and weekend hours required.
