Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, FL is seeking a Manager – Electrical Technical Support.
SUMMARY
The Project Support Management (PSM) group Manager, Electrical Technical Support is responsible for planning, direction, coordination, and review of electrical procedures and technical support for the construction and commissioning activities associated with Simple Cycle, Cogen, CCGT multi-shaft, and single-shaft configurations.
The Electrical Technical Support Manager will report to the Senior Manager of the Project Management Support Group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strong leadership and supervision for all personnel assigned to the PSM Electrical Erection and Commissioning Section Team
- Support and review of Project Specific Electrical and Commissioning Procedures including List and Schedule of Deliverables/Submittals
- Review Power Island/Power Train Installation and Commissioning Drawings and collaborate with the PSM Procedures Manager
- Understand the project description, specifications, processes, and relevant contract sections
- Ensure site erection and commissioning activities meet client electrical standards, safety, quality, and budget
- Manage site electrical quality issues and recommend corrective actions
- Coordinate technical queries and non-conformance reports with EPC and consortium partners
- Resolve Project Action Requests (PARs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) in coordination with QC, engineering, suppliers, and Field Technical Advisors
- Lead Project Interconnect Collaboration with consortium partners and EPC to meet grid code requirements
- Develop and approve grid code test procedures for domestic and international markets
- Coordinate with OEMs to ensure compliance with grid code requirements
- Interface with Grid Operation Regional Managers
- Manage resources to provide technical support per schedule
- Provide leadership ensuring HSE, quality, and productivity
- Support construction and commissioning execution alongside Project Manager, Engineer, Construction Services Manager, and Commissioning Services Manager
- Review monthly schedules to ensure alignment with project needs
- Identify improvements in construction methods
- Track assigned project deliverables using PAR dashboards
- Represent PSM in project meetings as needed
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with all EHS policies and report unsafe activities
- Support ISO and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop training programs for evolving grid code requirements
- Contribute to team spirit and cross-functional collaboration
- Protect confidential information and uphold integrity
- Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in Gas or Steam Turbine EPC projects or major EPC industrial projects
Certifications:
- 10-hour OSHA training preferred
Language Skills:
- Able to interpret technical documents and present to varied audiences
Mathematical Skills:
- Knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, ratios, and statistical inference
Reasoning Ability:
- Able to interpret instructions in various formats and solve abstract/concrete problems
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in project management tools, MS Office, diagrams, flow charts, and technical software
