We are looking for a Manual Machinist to join our Core team in La Porte.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to calculate dimensions not specified on print
- Work with Department Supervisor to develop a machine plan
- Capable of operating all machines in the shop (including large mills, lathes, stripping
- machine, manual lathe, VTL, tool post grinders, and other equipment)
- Work closely and clearly communicates with the other departments, Machine personnel,
- Supervisor, and Lead Man
- Operate machine to make complex angle cuts and threading where multiple speeds and feeds are required
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Must have experience working with turbo machinery
- Must have the required tools to perform their expected tasks
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary
- Must be able to use precision measuring instruments
