Mechanical Assembler
Windsor, CT | Full-time
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join our production team in Windsor, CT. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assembling mechanical components and systems used in airport ground support equipment, including buggies, luggage loaders, and other large tarmac machinery. The ideal candidate has experience using hand and power tools, can confidently interpret blueprints and technical drawings, and is committed to producing high-quality work in a safe, team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical systems and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Use hand and power tools to fit, align, and secure mechanical components
- Read and follow assembly instructions, blueprints, and schematics accurately
- Conduct functional and quality inspections to ensure compliance with standards
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly-related issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies
- Accurately document assembly tasks and complete required production records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or vocational certification in automotive/mechanical field is a strong plus
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience in an assembly or automotive shop environment preferred
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical work instructions
- Solid mechanical aptitude with excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced setting
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical components is a plus
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production documentation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and manual assembly tasks
- Daily use of hand tools and powered equipment in a shop environment
