Medical Assistant Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Creates an excellent patient experience through a friendly and helpful attitude
- Maintains patient records and chart documentation accurately and completely
- Ability to obtain patient vital signs and medical intake history
- Communicates clearly and effectively with patients. Reinforce patient education initiated by licensed clinical staff
-Assist with setting up with surgical procedures (i.e. skin biopsy, cyst removal, skin cancer excision)
-Assist in specific laboratory procedures and collection of specimens
-Perform simple wound care dressing applications
-Suture and staple removal
-Prepare and sterilize instruments
-Communicate patient pathology results
-Follows office policies and procedures
-Ensure compliance with medical coding procedures for billing purposes
-Upholds standards of patient confidentiality and privacy
Requirements:
- Certificate or diploma in Medical Assisting.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical systems.
- Prior experience in outpatient or clinical settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail..
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
