We are seeking a Medical Assistant - Orthopedic surgery to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical office running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, strong clinical skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy and energetic setting. You will work closely with experienced providers to deliver comprehensive care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional care to the patients
- Performs essential and assigned daily clinical duties
- Chart preparation
- Assist during medical examinations and procedures
- Clinical intake of patient's complaint and vitals
- Casting and Splinting and DME
- Post op care, Suture/Staple removal
- Clinical patient phone calls and call triage
- Accurately document patient's health information in system
- Scribing for provider
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations
- Maintains strict confidentiality
- Process prescription refills as directed by physician
- Treats co-workers, medical providers, patients, and visitors with dignity and respect
- Preparation, cleaning and stocking of exam rooms.
- Performs other related duties as needed and assigned
- Injection & Radiology authorizations
- FMLA & Disability, DWC (work comp) paperwork
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare, orthopedics preferred
- EMR experience required, ATHENA a plus
- Must be able to assist provider with Orthopedic procedures
- Attentive to detail with excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- BXMO preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
