Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support within our clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to communicate with patients. On-site role only.
Duties
- Primary role is to coordinate referrals, communicate patient test results, manage prescription refills, work incoming faxes, and manage patient care when transitioning from a hospital stay or skilled nursing. This position may work in the clinic when short staffed, but will normally be an administrative role.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for patients.
- May from time to time perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and documenting medical histories.
- Manage patient records and maintain accurate documentation in clinic systems.
- Provide administrative support by scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and handling patient inquiries with professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations within the clinic setting.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical assistant role
- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient service and support in a clinical environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
