Our clinic is seeking a Medical Office Assistant with excellent interpersonal skills and a history of managing telephone calls, appointment scheduling and in-person patient interactions. We are looking for a candidate with prior experience in a medical setting and a positive attitude. The right candidate will be comfortable working with different people, including nurses and patients.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointments and take messages from patients when doctors are not available.
- Answers phones and takes messages.
- Greet patients who come for appointments.
- Triage patients.
- Take vital signs.
- Prepare charts for provider.
- Prepare patients for procedures as directed.
- Performs lab tests and lab draws as directed by provider.
- Send referrals, prior-auths, and orders as directed.
- Answer patients' questions about illnesses, medications, and appointment dates.
- Maintain patient records in an organized fashion.
- Create and maintain a database of patients.
- Give subcutaneous and IM injections as ordered by provider.
- Set up follow up appointments as directed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
