We are a busy outpatient medical practice in Flushing, NY, specializing in Pain Management and Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner
- Answer and direct phone calls; schedule, confirm, and follow up on patient appointments
- Verify patient insurance and obtain authorizations for procedures
- Register new patients and maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems
- Perform administrative tasks: filing, faxing, scanning, typing letters, etc.
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient concerns or questions
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA
- Support clinical and administrative staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Chinese and English required
- Prior experience as a medical assistant, receptionist, or medical scribe preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., MDLand) is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Professional, punctual, and reliable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
