Part-Time Billing Assistant

Spek Diagnostics is a locally owned pathology lab committed to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic services. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Billing Assistant to support our billing team with administrative and entry-level billing tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in medical billing or healthcare administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Print and mail patient statements and paper insurance claims
- Answer incoming patient billing calls professionally and helpfully
- Post patient payments, including credit card and check transactions
- Review and update patient demographic and billing information
- Assist with general administrative and billing support tasks as needed
What We're Looking For
- No prior billing experience required—training will be provided
- Comfortable using a computer and learning new software (we use RXNT)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional, courteous communication skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Willingness to learn basic HIPAA and patient privacy practices
Position Details
- Location: On-site at our Garden City laboratory
- Schedule: Part-time, flexible within standard business hours (approx. 15–25 hours/week)
- Compensation: $15–$20 per hour, depending on experience and skills
