Overview: Busy medical practice is looking for a motivated, professional, and experienced individual for an Office Manager position. The right candidate must have Healthcare management experience and will be responsible for the overall activities and performance of the office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Office Manager is accountable and responsible for the office site operations.
- Oversees policies, procedures and standards that direct all aspects of daily operations of the medical practice.
- Functions include preparation of reports, coordinating administrative functions and activities of the group, maintaining supply inventories and departmental equipment and department integrity.
- Selects, trains, directs, and evaluates practice support staff. Recommends merit increases, promotions and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor maintenance and direct repair of the office facility.
- Serve as the first point of contact for patient and external customer complaints.
- Reconcile and investigate all complaints relating to practice operations.
- Daily supervision of the office personnel and delegation of duties to ensure the efficient operation of the office.
- Apply systems which facilitate the timely and accurate registration of patients to the facility, and which ensure efficient patient flow.
- Ensure the proper procedures for receiving, recording and depositing all patient and other daily receipts.
- Produce weekly operational reports related to site performance.
- Ability to assume staff responsibilities in the event of staff absence.
- Typing and computer work is essential.
- All other functions as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Management experience in medical office or ambulatory surgery setting.
- Operational experience with EMR systems.
- Understanding of standard medical billing practices.
- Knowledge of insurance company’s procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of governmental, legal, and regulatory provisions related to collection activity.
- Knowledge of chemotherapy related drugs and supplies.
- Knowledge of diagnostic testing and radiation procedures.
Education:
- 5 years of Management experience in an outpatient medical facility or ambulatory healthcare setting required.
- Experience in oncology preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Health Care Administration or related field.
