Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting the overall efficiency of our medical office. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Duties
- Manage and maintain patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Input, update, and retrieve patient information using EHR systems.
- Organize and file physical medical records in accordance with established protocols.
- Assist healthcare providers in accessing patient information as needed.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding medical records management.
- Respond to requests for patient information from authorized personnel while adhering to privacy laws.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate efficient patient care and record management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for effective record management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret and manage patient records.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
