Position: Medication Aide
Location: Darlington, ID
Shift Time: Days shift TBA
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay Rate:
- $13/hr -$14/hr on w2 without Benefits
Job Requirements:
- Accurately administer oral, topical, ophthalmic, otic, nasal, and rectal medications to residents under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Document medication administration in the Medication Administration Record (MAR) according to facility protocol and state regulations.
- Observe residents for potential side effects or adverse reactions and report promptly to nursing staff.
- Assist with monitoring vital signs as needed before or after medication administration.
- Maintain medication carts, ensure proper storage of medications, and follow infection control and safety guidelines.
- Assist with basic ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) such as grooming, bathing, and feeding as needed.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
- Follow established policies and procedures for medication administration and reporting.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Participate in training sessions, continuing education, and staff meetings as required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a assisted living setting.
License & Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid Medication Aide certification as required by state law.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility is a plus.
Vaccination: COVID-19 vaccination or exemption required.
