This position supports the President of the Greater River North Business Association with member engagement, event coordination, and operational tasks. We do not offer health insurance at this time.
About the Role:
This is a full-time, in-office position, with occasional remote flexibility as approved. There is an incredible opportunity for growth, both professionally and financially, for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Provide support during events to ensure a seamless experience for all attendees.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries and support
- Assist the President with administrative tasks and special projects
- Coordinate logistics for monthly mixers, rooftop events, and other programming
- Maintain and update member records and event databases
- Support basic bookkeeping and financial record-keeping
- Prepare event materials, signage, name tags, and check-in lists
- Help onboard new members and facilitate engagement touchpoints
- Track RSVPs, feedback, and participation metrics
- Attend and staff all association events
- Collaborate with vendors, venues, and sponsors
- Conduct sales activities including recruiting new members and sponsors to grow the association’s network and revenue
Qualifications:
- Self-starter with a dynamic, energetic, and detail-oriented approach
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Event coordination or administrative experience preferred
- Comfortable with basic bookkeeping or willing to learn
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Google Workspace and CRM tools
- Must be based in Chicago and available to work in the office full-time
- Occasional remote work permitted with prior approval

Experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in event planning or marketing is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on negotiation techniques.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and member engagement.
