Monitor Southway Building Principal August 15, 2025
186 Day Contract/2 hours and 30 minutes per day
10:30 AM-1:00 PM


Minimum · Valid Ohio Department of Education license/permit as determined at the time of appointment.
Qualifications: · Meets mandated state/federal criteria (i.e., approved degree, completion of requisite higher education

credit hours/courses, or acceptable score on an authorized professional standards test).
  • Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
  • Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct.
  • Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) or similar training may be required for some assignments.

NOTE: Successful completion of annual continuing education/on-line training is required. Blood-borne

pathogen/communicable disease, child abuse/neglect, CPR and/or first aid/injury prevention training
may be required as a condition of employment.


Essential 1. Arrives prepared to start working on time. Follows established sign in/out procedures.
Functions: Complies with program and/or building work hours/schedules.
· Moves throughout the cafeteria and recreation areas. Maintains a conspicuous presence. Actively

interacts with staff/students/visitors. Responds immediately to safety concerns.
  • Supports opportunities for social interactions among students.
  • Monitor s student conduct during study hall, detention, and/or in-school restriction. Checks to ensure
students are working on classroom assignments.
  • Communicates rules to students (i.e., expectations and consequences). Encourages student
accountability, active participation, cooperation, punctuality, dependability, etc.
  • Immediately notifies an administrator regarding the suspected presence of drugs and/or weapons.

Notifies a supervisor about conditions that may contribute to an accident. Ensures clear routes are
maintained for emergency egress. Assists with building evacuations during emergencies
