SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Janitor/Maintenance Worker is responsible for providing general cleaning of the offices and shops. They also clean the buildings including the bathrooms, showroom, lobby, offices, lunchroom, and shops. As time permits, and circumstances require, they will also help pick up trash around the perimeter of the property, remove snow, and complete other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE:
Monday – Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
Key Result Area #1: Janitorial/Maintenance
- Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, and mirrors- inside and out.
- Refill paper towel and toilet paper dispensers.
- Vacuum all carpets and rugs.
- Sweep and mop all hard floors.
- Empty garbage and replace can liners.
- Wipe down door handles and desk surfaces with a disinfectant.
- Dust around windows and doors.
- Adjust to mow grass once a week.
- Adjust schedule to remove when requested.
- Good Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able and willing to honor UGM culture and core values, leadership structure, and complete position objectives with excellence.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook); able to complete documents and accurately record information.
- Able to speak clearly and be understood.
- Must have a teachable spirit and the ability to manage multiple tasks, listen, and make sound decisions.
- Insightful, trustworthy, honest, reliable, and strong work ethic.
- Criminal background check clearance – required.

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is continuously required to sit, stand, walk and run, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk between buildings. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School education. No experience required. We will provide training.
