Utah Housing Corporation (UHC), based in West Valley City, Utah, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional for the role of Multifamily Housing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Analyst to join our Multifamily Finance and Development Department. In this role, you will support the administration and continuous improvement of the federal LIHTC Program – one of the state's most important affordable housing tools. This full-time position works closely with senior leadership and program partners to ensure that affordable housing developments meet federal and state requirements, and that UHC's credit allocation process remains efficient, transparent, and effective.
Our Multifamily Housing LIHTC Analyst offers annual pay between $66,000 to $76,500 based on qualifications and experience. As our Multifamily Housing LIHTC Analyst, you will work closely with the Housing Credit Allocation Manager to assist with the annual review and update of the Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP), ensuring that it is clear, current, and reflects all program changes. You will evaluate and process housing credit applications, final cost certifications, and IRS Forms 8609 in accordance with the QAP and Section 42 guidelines, coordinating with the Allocation Manager and other department staff. You will also create tools to assess project viability and analyze data for reports to UHC leadership and the Board. Organization and collaboration are key, as you will work closely with team members to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
Additional responsibilities of our Multifamily Housing LIHTC Analyst include conducting annual scoring training for internal staff, supporting the processing of IRS Form 8610 and year-end credit reconciliation, and maintaining accurate documentation through UHC's Allocation Log. You will perform subsidy layering reviews, assist in correcting inconsistencies, help shape internal policies and procedures, and support portfolio analysis. You will also be involved in planning and participating in professional and public input meetings, and may be called on to present information about the Housing Credit Program to stakeholders
This role of Multifamily Housing LIHTC Analyst will hold a bachelor's degree or possess equivalent professional experience in public administration, finance, or a related field, with at least three years of experience in multifamily housing development, underwriting, or a related area. A strong understanding of Section 42 compliance is essential. You should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office programs, with strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with precision.
