OBXtek is currently staffing for a Multimedia Specialist II. The Multimedia Specialist is responsible for designing and developing a wide variety of multimedia and graphic products that require considerable originality, creativity, critical thinking, and an acute awareness of audience and functionality. This position contributes to the tactical execution of visual campaigns by working cooperatively across the organization to create appealing visual artifacts to drive engagement through existing and emerging digital media platforms. The incumbent exercises independent judgment requires intermittent and infrequent supervision to navigate the established program policies and procedures.
Major Duties:
- Leads multimedia projects which may include complex visualization and imaging projects such as advanced three-dimensional design, CAD, and virtual reality design;
- Designs, develops, and rasterize vector based digital content to produce high-quality multimedia products by completing post-video production, image re-touching, scripting, and storyboarding using Adobe Creative Suite and other software products;
- Facilitate discussions about how to visually represent analytic ideas and advises on the technical advantages and limitations of various formats, styles, media, and reproduction methods to maintain media content brand consistency;
- Guides the creative direction and oversees the development of video and audio content to comply with accessibility standards, confidentiality and privacy policies, project timelines, style, and standard guidelines;
- Creates audio masters and soundtracks for presentations, DVDs/CD-ROMS and video clips for course presentations;
- Provides innovative ideas and plans for future R&D programs to help expand existing technology and capabilities i.e., Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality based training;
- Researches and collaborates with stakeholders to identify emerging new multimedia equipment and materials to advance the program multimedia capabilities;
- Maintains professional competence and specialized knowledge base by keeping abreast of emerging themes and best practices in multimedia and graphics methodology;
- Maintains graphics library of templates, guidance documents, and photos and updates library on a regular basis;
- Take digital photos at course locations, re-touching and formatting images in digital formats;
- Occasional local travel may be required;

May work independently on large (100+ hours) projects with little guidance and/or oversee the collaborative work of other specialists.
Professional Qualifications/Skills:
Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer graphics, multimedia, animation, videography or related work experience in one of the above fields by providing a portfolio that illustrates previous multimedia projects. Years of experience may be substituted for formal education.
- Four (4) years of experience creating innovative designs and illustrating technical concepts by creating compelling visuals through design and implementation that appeals to the brand's target demographic.
- Experience in program management, preferably in a training environment, with all aspects of planning, implementing, and problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced collaborative team environment;
- Requires strong communication skills to present information in verbal, written form to people at all levels of the organization;
- Demonstrated skill of shifting approach in response to the demands of a changing situation;
- Requires a creative, high attention to detail, self-starter and self-driven with the ability to follow through on details;
- Intermediate knowledge level of digital compositing (Photo bashing) of both 2D and 3D rendered elements for both stills and video production using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Blender and Cinema 4D;
- Intermediate level knowledge of 3D modeling and animation for use in creating assets for training slides and interactive courses using software such as Autodesk 3DS max, Lightwave, Blender, etc.;
- Intermediate knowledge level of digital photography and videography including editing and video camera operation;
- Intermediate knowledge level of a variety of methods, techniques and materials used in the design, production and reproduction of visual products;
- Must be proficient in Windows Professional Operating Systems and/or IOS, particularly, Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
