Position Summary

The National Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing strategic relationships with large multi-unit restaurant chains. This role focuses on developing tailored foodservice packaging solutions, driving account-specific growth strategies, and coordinating internal resources to deliver best-in-class support. The ideal candidate is a highly strategic, customer-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Own and manage all aspects of key national accounts, including sales strategy, forecasting, product development, and contract negotiations.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships across all departments within the customer's organization (procurement, marketing, operations, sustainability, etc.)
  • Lead account planning, innovation roadmaps, and long-term growth initiatives

Customer-Centric Solutions

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, R&D, Operations, Customer Service) to develop customized packaging solutions that meet customer needs and brand standards
  • Monitor trends in the foodservice industry and proactively introduce new products that align with client goals.
  • Identify and build relationships with rising national chains
  • Provide insight and direction on packaging conversions, product enhancements, and cost optimization opportunities

Sales Execution & Performance

  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals, profit targets, and account retention objectives
  • Drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities within accounts to maximize revenue and share of wallet
  • Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams ensuring clients' requirements are met
  • Prepare deliver executive-level presentations, sales data, business reviews, and performance analyses

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Lead internal cross-functional meetings to align resources and priorities for national account success
  • Manage project timelines and ensure timely delivery of products, prototypes, pricing, and support materials
  • Serve as the internal advocate for each assigned customer
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of national account management experience in foodservice packaging, consumer products, or related B2B industries
  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex multi-unit accounts with national or regional restaurant chains
  • Strong understanding of the foodservice distribution model (Sysco, US Foods, PFG, etc.) and restaurant operator dynamics
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience utilizing a CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 40–50% nationally
