Summary: The Network Technician assists in managing, monitoring, and maintaining the network and server infrastructure and provides tier two technical support (and building coverage) for the seven school buildings at Minooka 201.

Performance Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining Servers, Switches, Access Points, and Firewalls
- Assist in managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and Intune policies
- Assist in improving district cybersecurity, including vulnerability and patch management
- Monitor the network infrastructure performance and availability
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all IT Infrastructure
- Diagnose and resolve network/server issues, including hardware and software failures, connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks
- Assist in managing our hypervisor environment and backup solutions
- Provide tier 2 technical support for Technical Support Specialists
- Provide technical support coverage when building technicians are unavailable
- Assist in improving the district’s Disaster Recovery and Incident Response plans
- Bulk device configurations through tools, policies, and scripting
- Willingness to learn scripting languages to automate processes
- Willingness to evaluate and improve current processes and procedures in IT operations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2 years of IT experience
- 1 year of experience managing routers, switches, and firewalls preferred
- Security+ Certified or the ability to earn certification within 90 days of employment
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and wireless networks
- Demonstrates knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Intune Policies
- Understanding of Virtual Machines and a hypervisor environment
- The ability to produce easy-to-follow documentation for technical staff
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Travel expectations when troubleshooting from the central office aren’t conclusive
- Travel to other buildings when tier 2 support is needed
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in an ever-changing environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
